Exporting via firewire to DVX 100A

I have a gig tomorrow where I have to shoot the event, import the footage in to my computer, edit it, and then record the edited version to a tape for the client.

I've always put out the finished product on DVDs so I figured I'd try it out tonight.

My DVX 100A is happy to play footage to the computer, but it doesn't seem to see the signal being fed from the computer via the firewire.

What do I need to set in the camera to make it record the signal coming over the firewire?

do you have it set in "DECK" mode? (i think thats what its called - its the opposite of CAMERA mode - the little button on the lower left of the battery - toggles between camera and deck....)
