Greetings,

Here is a question for any one who does a lot of truck work, or OB for you guys in Europe.

My Company is replacing the cameras on our truck. We're not going HD.........yet.

We have a couple of viewfinder options, neither of which are ideal. There aren't any 6 inch b/w viewfinders available.

1st, 5 inch balck and white.
We currently use 6 inch b/w and think 5 is too small.

The 2nd option is an 8 inch color LCD.
I've been told getting fine focus is tough with a color viewfinder. But I don't have any real world experience with them. We shoot in some pretty dimmly lit places. They are also pretty big, compared to what we have now, and the hoods look alittle cheap.

So, what's anyone think? We're leaning towards the color but we have doubts?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Joey

It's more important to have good resolution with the 8" LCD than worry about color. The color can typically be turned down all the way leaving you with b/w. But without adequate resolution, focusing will be difficult either way. Monochrome CRT's usually have good resolution due to the design simplicity of a single gun with no convergence issues. Make sure any LCD you use has a nice high pixel count.
