Of course you know that this means no more microwave shots with the mast up...should significantly reduce workload.

I dunno.... I think it was just "his time". If that lightning bolt hadn't formed out of a clear sky, it woulda been a meteorite or something. His number was just up...

If the article's scant details are accurate, there still has to be a storm somewhere in the area for this kind of lightning to happen. That's another good reason to follow the "mast down until at least 20 mins after the last visible lightning" rule.

I guess someone in his family pissed off Thor. Makes you wonder what you do to deserve that.


The reality is these bolts do happen. We had one in Tampa a fews years back, where two men were zapped on the sidewalk. Both lived, but again it was "blue sky" day. part of the story was showing both radar and sat images to describe the clear skies. Most stations also record the lighting strikes.
