So my dream was to get to work in a great storyteller market like Denver one day.....I mean Corky is there and a bunch of other great Photogs.....but I heard from a reporter in the BIZ that KUSA is going OMB?!?!?!?

Is this true? Has anybody heard this? Said reporter's agent advised to stay away since OMB isn't all that cool. What's the word out there?

I know that they hired Anastasiya Beaverhausen (er, Bolton...sorry, had to do it) as a OMB (VJ, whatever) just over a year ago. I don't work there, so I don't know if she is still doing that or not. I heard that they were going to go towards more OMBs as well.

I just checked out their JOB openings and they are hiring for general assignment reporter, but they added things like....."help edit stories"....and "strong pre-production skills".....am I reading into this too much?

Don't they have remote bureaus ? Maybe it's for those.

I am sure there are a few under their roof. On my trip to The Workshop, I met one of them - Heidi McGuire. She was hired as KUSA's first "backpack journalist" in March '06. And I gotta give credit where creidt is due...while she might not be knocking them out of the park like some of their photogs, some of the stuff she showed us on her tape was quality - particularly some creative stand ups.

I know nothing beyond that...

I was shocked when I heard that Matt Reneux (I think that is spelled right) was a OMB. His packages are some of the best I've seen.

When I worked for Gannet, the mantra was this..

1. There will always be room for two person crews.

2. We will add more VJ's
