I was looking for some feedback from anyone that's had experience with the JVC HD100/110. I'm considering using it for shooting documentary and would like to find out how it holds up to a long shooting days, particularly in tropical weather conditions.

We are using that very camera on an around the world children's adventure show. USA, Canada (the Arctic), England, France, Ukraine, Germany, Mexico, Peru and India so far. Costa Rica, Kenya, & Thailand to go. Seems to be holding up well. We've shot in all climates from sub-arctic cold to Indian heat, from sea level to 13000 feet (Machu Picchu) I will PM you some contact info for the producer/shooter/gearhead and he can probably give you more skinny on the details than I can provide.

I work with the camera a lot on not so environmentally demanding corporate gigs. For the price it is a great camera. I like that it has a real lens and is set up like a broadcast camera so every thing is where I expect it to be. It sists on your shoulder for hand held work. The focus assist function is nice too.
I strongly reccomend getting the wide angle adapter for the lens that comes with it. It does not make it a wide angle, meerly a normal angle lens (otherwise it's much too narrow). I'd also get the Antons or the IDX battery system. It will run almost all day on one of those, but the little battey that comes with it only lasts a little over half an hour.
There was a thread recently about the camera that might answer some more questions.
Feel free to PM me too.
