What to include

Hey all. I have learned about a soon to be open sports photographer position in my area. I want to get a tape ready for that possible job opening. currently as a news photog, I haven't had the oppurtunity to shoot sports packages. I have done plenty of highlights for local highschool/college athletics, and in my past have done camerawork for live productions of various sporting events. My question is With highlights, should I include a couple of news packages on the tape to show off storytelling abilities? Or is it a bad idea to show news when applying for a fulltime a sports photographer position? Anyone have any ideas?

My guess would be to show some well thought out feature packages - our sports guys pride themselves on creative work thatis similar to many feature or franchise efforts that populate our newscast. Show interesting work, sequencing, good editing, nats - it all translates.
