I'm trying to help out a female friend in the business. Does anyone know of any "Entertainment Show" hosting spots around the country? Local or national. Start-up or ongoing. ANYTHING? Please post here or feel free to PM. Thanks!

Do you mean like websites for on-camera jobs that are not news?

Oh, no, sorry... I mean like an entertainment TV show hosting job. Like "Good Day Baltimore" (And, no, I have no ideea if that exists... just an example!). Focusing less on news and more on lifestyle and entertainment topics.

Have her look at this site...http://www.entertainmentcareers.net/sbjobs/ They sometimes have listings for talent under casting call.

Well, I'm just exploring some different avenues. Nobody knows the business like the guys on the streets!

Where the hell is her agent in all this?

Her agent is Newsshooter3.

Her old agent was Maury Ballstein and he had an Entertainment Gig lined up in the San Fernando Valley.

Go to jobs.mediageneral.com and search Broadcast in South Carolina... Haven't looked at any details but there are two listed for WSPA. Should come up right at the top...

I'll bet you are doing more for your friend than an agent is doing. With excellent advice like you find here on b-roll you've got some actual search tips. Good luck and take 10% for yourself when the deal gets done.

In the words of super agent Maury Ballstein:

"The designer's got your nuts in a vice! He's offering you three percent for every pair of underwear sold! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO!
Kids: Screw Him! Hold out for more! "

You're barking up the wromg end of the tree. If a photog/ tech ever had the inside run on hiring talent we would stop being a photog/ tech for the cash reasons only (at least I would never forget that it is a job and only a job after all).

As a photog you sometimes have inside knowledge that someone is leaving and the the job has not been posted. Granted we ain't the ones doing the hiring but we could help guide someone as to where to look for an opening.

you might try " Hot On " @ www.hotonhomes.com...I used to DP the show and they were always trying to break into other markets....

I didn't see any video when I went to that site, but damn the houses in Phoenix are amazing AND reasonablely priced! You couldn't even get a townhose in the Baltimore area for what you can get a single family home there. Amazing!

Thanks, Pauli...

Yeah, didn't see any video either. How does it all work? Any contact info? Do they use hosts? Feel free to PM me?

Thanks!

to get to see their segments, click on the website, then click on " Featured Builders ", then click on the camera icon...not sure if it will work on all computers, but give it a shot, it might work...they have a job opening for DP on TV Jobs.com and their address and contact person will have more info....
