Hello all,
Does anyone know how to access the option to switch from DH to NDF on a beta d35ws?
I have tried going through the manual but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance,
Lcp

It might be in the menu settings. Damn Sony, they have the same things, but different model cameras have them in different places :smaksforehead:

But I couldn't find it there either. I am curious could there be a more advanced menu?
thanks,

It's on the deck, not the camera head. You have to get into the deck's menu using a paper clip to push the little menu button, if memory serves correctly. Go through a few of the menu pages and one will display df or ndf in the LCD screen. During normal operation, there is an indicator in the LCD that tells which mode it is in. It is a janky system, for sure.

This if for the PVV3... I am not sure how the other BetaSP backs work, like a BVV5. Probably equally as confusing....

There is an engineer menu on the camera head but not for drop frame/non drop frame. It is activated by holding one of the arrow buttons down and turning the camera head on, I think. I always have to just play around to get it to function... every Sony camera has some weird ritualistic sequence to perform to change settings.

Maybe if you get out the ouija board, throw some salt and roll the chicken bones on a leap-year it will work.

BVV5 is a clearly marked switch

The timecode setting is a function of the recorder, not the camera. What type of recorder are you using?

For example, if its a PVV3 (Beta);

1 - Select menu 204, select dF(factory default) or ndF.

2 - Press shift button to make the frame mode indicator flash, then press advance button to toggle between df & ndF.

3 - Press the RESET/MENU SET button, then the MENU button.
This exits the VTR Mode. The new setting is saved when you press the RESET/MENU SET button.

Again, this is done on the PVV3, not in the camera.

Thanks for all of the replies! I got it figured out and I must say that this is one of the reasons that I Love B-roll.net so much. yeah there is plenty of republican vs democrat and other stuff like that but when someone has a question you guys step up and give the best answer possible. No BS just a here is something you might try.
Again thanks a million,

Well,if you're a Republican, just leave it in drop-frame and tell the client that the Democrats failed to change it to non-drop-frame when they had it five years ago...
