Somebody tell me about WKRN and the VJ situation.
I noticed they have a Photographer position opening right next to a VJ position opening on their web site.
So is there a difference?

Yes, there is a difference. I actually sent a tape in for that position as well. They are adding a nightside photog/reporter team.
Just an assumption, but from what I've read about the failure of the VJ system, they may be going back to the traditional team route.

Please read back a few pages, on everything involving the VJ world. There happens to be a lot of info on this at this website.
It might do you a little good.
Just sayin'.

Being interested in the Nashville market, I did a "Nashville" search here and found a TON of threads about the VJ system and WKRN. Doesn't seem like a very popular system based on the folks that have posted. But they could very well be the minority.
To me, it just seems like a system that would have too many disadvantages.

Don't count on it.

You're right. Like I said, the ones that talk about it may very well be the minority. I'm not there so it's definately unfair of me to draw a clear conclusion about it.

Um, isn't it OBVIOUS that the VJ model is alive and thriving? How ELSE do you explain a posting for a photographer?

Yeah, they want a nightside photog but you get to use the little hdv cams.
Not impressed.
That's all I have to say.
