It's time to renew my camera insurance. There was a post from someone last year with a great rate. Seems it was an agent in Kansas or something like that. I searched the archives all over and can't find the info.
So I'm looking for any leads on great rates for coverage. Roughly it will be $100,000 of owned gear plus extra rentals.
I'm with DeWitt Stern now and it's not too bad but I'm trying to do better.
Thanks

Brad Buell in the Chicago area: 1-800-842-8355. You may have to join WEVA to get the good rate, that's what I did about 9 or 10 years ago, but I dropped it after about two years and it was never mentioned again. I have at least $100K on and off premises, and a least $1 million liability and I think I'm somewhere between $1200 and $1500 a year. I'd have to double check to be sure, because I just had to send them a check to bump up my off-premises coverage.

R&G,
Is the company you were insured with when all that gear was stolen? Are you still with them?

wow, $1,200 is a good rate.

I'm paying about $2,300 a year. That's for insuring about $70K worth of gear, and covers up to $10,000 in rental equipment, which is fine since I usually just have to rent lights sometimes. I don't have liability, though, that's an extra $350 a year. So far, no one's asked for it, but i'm ready to add it if I need it.

Warren, same company. They didn't drop me when renewal time came up, so I guess that's a good sign. ;)
