Warren, you post a few topics every now and again about cars... So I'm curious as to what you and others drive and/or would like to drive?
Pics & stats help!

We started using Ford Freestyles about a year ago. Lot of room and all wheel drive. We just got through our first real snow test last week and they performed well. Better gas mileage than the Explorers. We have 10 Freestyles and 10 Explorers. Their worth a look.

Work: '07 Explorer marked:( lots of room in the back, fast as a spooked squirrel, but too many stupid nuisance things for a company that's been building trucks FOR 100 YEARS!
Family: '00 Lexus RX300. My wife's darling. Really nice for long trips, but needs more cargo space for a growing family. AWD great in the snow and the beach.
Miss it: '98 Audi A4 v6 Quattro. My foul weather go-kart!

Well, since you asked McFly,
Yes, I am a sportscar nut and I drive a 2001 Honda S2000, this one to be precise:
http://www.charmcityracing.net/2005%20Ne%20Div%20Dig%20Race%20Photos.jpg (no more expensive than an Explorer, less expensive than an Expedition, better on gass too).
As for a crew vehicle, I drive a 2003 Toyota Sienna, similar to this one:

Work car is a 2004 Pontiac Vibe, enough room for gear but no 4WD. I got stuck in 6 inches of snow this week. Kind of reminds of the Aztec, it's like somebody took a gum drop, squashed it down and put 4 wheels on it.
Personal truck is 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab-Thunder Road edition. I gotta have something to haul the horses around...and yeah, it's got a hemi!
Wife drives a 2000 Dodge Durango. They are so sexy lookin' with those beautiful curves. It's got a performance chip in it and goes like a bat outta hell. We call it the "Beast". It's a real sleeper.
Dream car? Too many to list.

I used to drive a Supra MKIII, but after getting stuck a couple of times in my unit, I needed a vehicle that could take me to those out of reach area's. I bought a 93 Ford Bronco, I then slapped some 33's and a 6" lift and now she's precious.
I also have a 2006 Dodge Magnum with a a spy glass and 22"s, and for those long trips I have a '99 Eddie Bauer Expedition, yeah I'm pretty much broke.
My work truck, don't have one, my unit was rolled and wasn't salvagable, now I just drive the old beater 91 Ford Explorer POS Edition, it runs.

pretty good little SUV (4WD)...but only 180 horses fed by 3.3liters. Most of the other shooters have the "newer" XTerra...270hp.
But we're transitioning to Subaru Forresters. I get mine in a couple of months. I know they're AWD...smaller than my current ride.
But it's a take-home car (and gear), so I can't complain. Hell, I'd drive a Yugo if it was a take-home car.
Oh yeah, the family car is a 2002 Ford WindStar minivan (we have two kids and a 95-pound Labrador retriever).

I just had that same conversation with a reporter, he drives this small Saturn, and he gloats about the money he saves on gas. My daily driver is a Ford Bronco and she gets thirsty, but I love to drive it. All he has to look forward to is great gas mileage, no ill on smaller cars but if you love it why deny yourself

no worries here - I know that truck gets 9 mpg in city, but my current dodge (5.9) only gets about 12-15 mpg city, so not that much difference - or at least that's what I'm convincing myself. I like fast rides, but consider myself a truck guy - now there is a truck for me! (plus I'll stongly consider and mods to help improve mileage - maybe with some luck, I'll get to 12 mpg!!!!

No, but $40,000 for a chassis only is crazy. You should be able to just about get the whole van for that. Don't get that slung-under lift either - they tend to have problems with rusting and getting hit by stuff. The Braun trifold lift works better, especially when coupled to the remote 60/40 doors. Also stay away from Rollx - they kinda suck with the full sized vans.
(Dad's in a chair - I've learned a lot about those things).

Actually, I envy you. I've seriously looked at Bricklins over the years but never had the dough. You can actually get one for around 18K if you look hard but the body is usually in kind of rough shape (fiberglass cracking etc) and I wouldn't have the $$ (or the wife's patience) to put a bunch of money into a car I had just bought...
