Anyone have any experience using this mixer. I know it's one model back but I'm thinking about upgrading my Shure 33.

Send it to Ron Meyer at PSC for a check up before buying, they've been around a while. It's a nice mixer. If you have NP batteries then the internal slot is a good thing.
I have the Alphamix. I love it! I almost bought the M4 MkII but it wasn't much less than the alpha.
Internal NP power feeds mixer plus 4 wireless. 2 hirose plus a pair of XLR's means I can feed 3 cameras. I bought the expansion module so I can do 8 channels! I did do a 6 channel run & gun and it worked great.

Thanks for the reply. Just brought one on ebay in mint condition and it has just been just been checked out by PCS. I think I'll like not having the outboard NP-1 holder. If I can sell my old Shure 33, the upgrade should only cost a few hundred dollars. I love ebay.

That is the same basic design as the wendt X4. I've been using the wendt for about three years, they are excellent imho.

The x4, as I remember is a PSC M4 MkII with some mods buy Wendt.
Now the Wendt x5 is a different kettle of fish. I've heard of various issues of incompatability with wireless systems. And that's what it's mostly used for by reality shows. There needs to be a mod done to eliminate the problem. Sorry I don't have the details. If you run into an x5 do some research. There's info in the RAMPS archive.

I own a PSC M4 MkII and love it. Be careful of the monitor switch though (right side near top) it can easily get bumped from S (stereo) to M (mono) to M/S (midside) which can mess up your monitoring if you can't figure it out (I've been caught a couple of times) Ditto the L (line) M (mic) switches for output.
One slightly annoying feature is that you have 2 sets of outputs (mains and snake) but you cannot have them set to different impedences (ie, you cannot have the mains set to mic out and the snake set to line out) it's either-or. If you want both then invest in a set of in-line pads ~$35 x 2)
Oh, and the meters are Peak meters not Vu meters so monitor accordingly.
PM me with any questions and I'll be glad to help.
