Nope, it's a long story with all kinds of reasons for the change. All of them good.

I'm a staff news photog in Miami now. My wife, who is also in the business, was offered a correspondent job with one of the big Spanish language networks, but it meant living up here in the states again. Sold all my camera gear and we made the big change just before Christmas.

I'm actually having fun. Plus getting my hands on some cutting edge camera gear that I don't have to pay for out of my own pocket.

Yeah...there's some "getting used to" when it comes to livng the local news coverage life again but...I can't complain. I'm working with some familiar faces as well as some talented new ones. Still doing what I've always loved doing...shooting news...but now based in the first world. ;)

I bought some of those a while back. They work great and like you said, they're inexpensive.
