According to Gallup's annual Lifestyle survey, Americans turn to local television for news more frequently than any other news source, with 55% tuning in to local broadcast TV for news on a daily basis -- a figure unchanged since 1995, despite the rise of the Internet and cable news. According to the poll, 69% of Americans are frequent viewers of local TV news; only 8% report never watching local news.
