We've just gotten a room in our building that we plan to use for interviews. It's not a studio, just an unused office, and we want to paint the walls.

It's nice and quiet and we do have plenty of lights to make it look nice.

What color would you suggest and why?

Thanks

One wall a nice earthy blue/slate

Another wall a rich toned yellowish/orange (ochre?)

Anything but white, a warm tone and a cool tone to fit the mood of the interviews you are doing.

Don't forget the props!!

I would agree with quicklad, except not so keen on the yellow/orange, but I agree with the principle that if possible have two different walls.

Have like coloured walls opposite each other for two camera shoots and get rid of white. Helps reduce spill as well if it's a small room.

Most interview rooms I've shot in had book cases and things like that for a backdrop.

A flat lightish grey might be good for shooting patterns on to.

What about a few different colors of curtains like a studio?

the president is almost always on blue ....
there is a reason for that ..... everyone looks good on it.

you want a light navy blue.

keep it simple, you want to interview people .... not show how
good you can decorate a room.

i have been trying to get such a thing for years
at my station the green room is actually painted in a nasty
80's mauve ...... yuk .... i'm sure it looked great in the 80's

I am thinking a hot pink stucco would be just magnificent.

I would also consider a small cyc, maybe something you could pull in front of another wall to give you a few more options.
