OK, so I haven't been around much lately. If you know me, you know why. We all have our demons. Enough said.

Every now and then a story comes along you just sort of fall in love with. It’s the sort of story that makes you understand why you’re in this business to begin with. It’s not always your best work, or the most important story. It’s also not necessarily a story you do for the viewer. Often it’s just a story that makes you feel good about yourself. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a story like that, like this, this story:

Nice story. You had a lot of special touches. I especially liked that you minimized the dedication with all the big shots and personalized it. It made me want to visit.

Ooohh! I really dig the reflection shot of your interview off of the memorial wall.

Very nice piece Richard.....

Simple things that aren't done often enough....like going a day early and dedicating some time to introducing a person and his passion...really paid off here

The all-too-easy way these days is to just plan on "COVERING THE EVENT" and way too often it's just plain disappointing. Any more of the ceremony and less with the officer and I might have felt cheated.

Compelling piece and beautiful pictures and a reminder, again, of what caring for a story can help make...something I certainly hope to rip-off...er....remind myself in the coming days, weeks....etc.

thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm heading west for a few days R&R, I'll be back the end of next week.

Nice pkg. I wish I had that kind of time to really cover a story like that. And have a non-liniar editor.
