I had mentioned in Nino's 'time for adjustment' thread that I just turned down a Z-1U project. I'd like to elaborate a bit on one aspect. They put me on hold for the week of the 11th. I got an e-mail from the exec telling me I'd be hearing from an assistant about the details. I had just received another offer for that same time period so I e-mailed back of that issue. I got a call about a half hour later from the assistant telling me it wouldn't work out for this project and I should take the other work.

My point here is that I have had plenty of clients who have left me hanging for many days and some don't call back at all, they just find somebody else but don't tell me of their decision. So I made sure of sending a thank you note to the exec for following up for me in a timely manner.

I'd like to suggest to all that we try to go out of our way to thank those producers who do this sort of thing for us. They don't have to, common curtesy ain't so common. There's plenty of griping, rightfully so about the dirtbags that populate our buisiness, we need to encourage those who actually have manners.
Happy Labor Day, don't work too hard!

I am lucky enough to not have that problem- my people generally let me know well out what the situation is, and the ones who don't drop to the bottom of the list.
