I'm applying for a photog position and was wondering if you guys know what the station is like, what they pay, and the morale of the employees. Thank you in advance.

Send a tape sure. But I would wait till the merge of UPN/WB happens before I would accept anything.

Why would the merge of WB/UPN matter?

Because some of the WB stations are loosing there affiliation when the CW starts up. It could cause the station to go independent and possibly lose some money. I know the WB in San Fran just lost its WB affiliation. Our WB in Fort Wayne is switching to CW, and causing the UPN that was run by our competition to be no more... I know that our company was ticked by the merger, and i think they sued because of it. They were about to sell their WB affiliates in Detroit and San Francisco, but then the WB/UPN merger happened and they lost affiliation and the buyers backed out... So I'm with ntxshooter, you might want to see how it plays out before you make your move....

I think the situation with KWGN is a little different. KWGN is an established station, the first tv station in Colorado in fact, that has gone through several affiliation changes and has continued to do news throughout. They recently changed to "News 2" in anticipation of the switch from WB to CW, but I think as long as Tribune has KWGN, the station's news operation is secure.

That said, they are definately not the best station in the market... but I'd jump on any opportunity to get into the Denver market if I were you.

Send your tape. Well will find out in a few weeks what will happen. It is good that it is owned by Tribune. They are a strong company.
