Baton Rouge Sat Uplink

A reader of b-roll.net wrote me looking for any info on costs and availablity of a sat uplink for live talk backs from Baton Rouge, LA during the week of August 21, 2006.

HMMM. Unless a lot has changed there is a c band uplink at the ABC affil. WBRZ. I beleive it is called Teleport. Station line is 225-336-2344. That's the newsdesk but maybe they can get you through to the telport guy. Every once and a while they do the talkback thing.

The above number is indeed the newsdesk number for WBRZ, the ABC affiliate. We have a c-band satellite, and we also have a DSNG truck, but scheduling that could be tricky, as it is also a microwave truck and sees regular use for live shots.

We have done talkbacks from the station before, and a few live shots, especially during the Serial Killer investigation a few years ago.

You'll want to ask for either Clyde Pierce or Martin Derouselle (pronounced duracell).
