Endemol will probally rent the units, not hire individual crews with them.
Yeah they rent, and keep the same crew through the season. I was on site for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, I was drooling watching those XDCAMs work.
that wireless 2Mbps MPEG-4 proxy is very cool,
I've been away a while and this is the first time I've seen your Avatar Matt Box, its doing my head in.

Would love to hear more about that, is it something taking place in realtime and if so How.....
My understanding (limited), it is all real time, they have a couple Avid systems on site, they make their first cuts with the MPEG-4 proxy, and just put the blu-ray disc in the safe.
Anyone know the range?

I was interviewing with someone today (to work with their XD-HD) and in talking about formats he said ABC had bought 1100 units (!!).
Has else anyone else heard this?
