Man, it's been slow down here in Dallas. If I didn't have my weekend part-time job as a news photographer at my local station, I wouldn't be able to keep paying my bills, and I have three cameras i'm paying off right now, a Betacam, a Digibeta, and an HDV, plus some other gear.
I've been hounding all my old clients for work, but everything's been slow, I used to shoot 2-3 days out of the week on a regual basis, and it just all screeched to a halt.
anybody else feelin' the pinch?

I sure am prayin' for some hurricanes right now...

Dude, It's SUMMERTIME !

It's pretty dead in Florida too, at least from my perspective.

Oh, and I thought you were talking about shooting outside right now. It was 114 in Phoenix today which kinda sucks when you're shooting outside. In this case black is not a good color for tripods when you have to move your sticks!

Yeah, no kidding...

I work overnights at the station, so it's not so it's a little cooler.

Live shots in the morning get hot, though...

At least this gives me time during the week to clean my home office and do paperwork...

Come out to Southern California where we are being burned up by wildfires once again!

The heat kills me on the rare occasion I get out of the A/C

This is why freelancers get a bigger buck..to cover the inevitable down time.
I'm up north and winter is usually very slow, although this last winter was my best in several years.
Use the down time to vacation, maintain gear or paint the house...

Its actually been surprisingly busy for me- working about 7-12 gigs a week.
