I'm was curious if I could loop someone into a favor to satisfy a curiosity of mine.

I was wondering if I could get someone with a Macie setup D600 to roll tape on a few scenes so that I can get a look at the cameras look and limitations.

I'm looking for easy stuff... some outdoor shots, couple interviews that are already setup maybe, and some low light stuff.

I'd forward you the tape and postage and toss in a small gratuity to help cover your pain in the butt.

I believe I can answer your question without sending you a tape. The Macie setup tends toward warm, but because I shoot in the pasty faced Midwest I usually warm it even further.

Although once the king of Betacams, the 30, 35 and 50 are better cameras. I like it because it is one piece (it's lighter)

Compared to the cameras of today it's, surprise, softer. Some people think it's more "film" like although I've never understood that expresssion when it comes to video. A Hi-Def lens will sharpen it a bit but we still talking maybe 400-450 lines of resolution. Although you a tweak the resolution via peaking on a production monitor, detent is probably the picture you're going to see in post-production.

It's not incredibly sensitive in low light compared to a DV CAM. I've shot with a Ike DV and it's a couple of stops faster.

All in all it's the best camera I've ever owned. Very reliable when maintained (once a year checkup by Macie). Would I buy one now? Probably not, a 400A or Sony 2 piece would get you through the coming transition and for less money.
