Anyone out there ever use the seven compact jib by long valley equipment. http://www.longvalleyequip.com/sevenjib.php
Any reviews, likes or dislikes?

I don't have any experience with that one but I've looked at it several times. The price looks good, but my only issue is the way the weights are mounted which leaves no way to have a T-handle that you usually have w/ a jib. It looks like you have to hold the weight like a steering wheel and move the jib that way (that is when you're using it from the back).
The only way I can see to make it work rellly well would be to modify it by welding a few pieces of steel piping into a T handle, leaving an inch or 2 to cover the bar that holds the weight with one ond of the piping then drilling the bar end so you could put a ball-lock pin through it.
But...I HATE having to spend good money on something then haveinfg to spend a bunch of time and money to re-engineer it. If they came up w/ a T-handle for it, I think it would worth trying it out.

This type of jib is not designed to be operated from the rear. Notice there is a fluid head with pan handle at the front with the camera. That is where you operate the jib. Operating from the rear eliminates all pan and tilt capability.
This is much more difficult to operate than jibs that have remote heads.

Yeah I'm with you guys but I'm not looking for a remote head 30ft jimmy jib. If I need a big jib shot I know lots of great jib guys that are a phone call away (as long as the producer want to pay). Whenever I use a jib on a shoot its for smaller shots and Id like to have something that can handle the weight of my camera but is small and portable.
So...... I know a few of you out there have the ezfx jib but I'm guessing due to the lack of response that no one has worked with this one. Ive worked a lot with the losemandy porta jib and the microdolly units but they are a bit more money than Id like to spend. Anyway... If you have used it let me know what you think.
Thanks

Sometime last year, I posted a question about the EZFX and the response I got back was that it's okay, but not great. It's not a Portajob, but it's kinda okay. Do a search for EZFX in the title and you'll probably find it.

Never used that one. I have an el cheapo Cobra jib. One thing I like
about it is that it mounts on a fluid head so you can do tilts with it and turn the camera 90 degrees.
It uses a cable & pulley system. One thing I don't like- it doesn't break down to a very small size. http://www.promax.com/Products/Cat/Cranes

I have the EZFX too, and would buy it again. Paid for itself many times over.
