Looks like no raises at Raycom this year.
I couldn't lilnk the clip so check out www.walb.com then check the featured videos for stories about the demolition of the wfxl tower. The two towers were within 150 feet of each other. The gut wires of the wxfl tower snagged the walb wires on the way down. Two stations off the air for the price of one.

That is a huge oops...
So there was a Army helicopter crash that damaged it in the first place?

"The first tower, owned by W-F-X-L-TV in Albany, had been leaning since it was damaged Thursday by a U-S Army helicopter en route from Hunter Army Airfield, near Savannah, to Fort Rucker near Dothan, Alabama
The crash, in rural Colquitt County, killed four soldiers and injured a fifth."

Like they said in the story though, CDI had told the management that there was a 60% chance that they'd bring the other tower down as well....
When those wires start whipping around, there's not much you can do....

What idiots. This didn't have to happen.
All you have to do is find yourself a few homeless people and pay them each a bottle of beer. Have each one stand at the base of a guy wire with a pair of wire cutters. On the count of three, they snip and run. Gravity does the rest, and only one tower goes down.
