The new era . . .computer technology live shots.

With all of the new computer / digital technology gizmos going around these days , how and where can an " oldtimer " like me learn how to use the laptop computer to edit , feed images , and do the smancy fancy videophone , and G5 laptop computer liveshots etc ,etc ?

Boy, oh, boy...are we in the same boat. I have found that you can read all the reviews, get your hands on the latest manuals....but until I actually get my hands on the camera, or the NLE, or the laptop and really feel what it's like to utilize these toys....I'm sh!t out of luck.




In the last 18 months I've learned NLE'ing, and am now pretty proficient. I still learn something new everyday, however. I finally put my first P2 video on the air on Friday. It feels good but until I actually get my grubby little paws on the technology and use it...I'm clueless.




Do what you can to get your hands on the toys and use them. It's the best way to learn. I've always been a believer of "street" smart over "book" smart. Not that there's anything the matter with being "book" smart.
