-----------------------------------------
I am heading up the Video Production Track at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Fort Lauderdale Conference June 14-17. The sessions are aimed at TV News Photographers/Camera Operators who cover daily news. NAHJ has always done a great job of offering educational sessions for Anchors, Reporters, Producers and News Managers. What was missing...were educational programs for those of us who shoot and edit for news operations.

After bringing it to the attention of the NAHJ leadership, they asked me to put together a program at last years Ft. Worth Conference. A majority of those who attended our educational sessions, were from the local Telemundo and Univision News operations. We even had one fellow from Puerto Rico. They were all very attentive and asked great questions. I'd like to think they learned a few things which they were able to take back to their jobs.

The topics we will cover are Storytelling, Editing, Lighting and working as a one man band. We will be open to any topic our audience would wish to discuss or ask questions you may care to ask. We will also offer critiques at a booth in the convention hall.

Tony Delgado, Chief Photographer at KHOU-TV in Houston and Paul Rios, Chief Photographer at WFAA in Dallas will join me as instructors during all the educational sessions and critique sessions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or you can visit the NAHJ web site for more infromation regarding the conference.
