I've got that Warren Zevon song going through my head...

Any way. I'm coming out to Denver for a few days to do a corporate shoot. Can any one reccomend some good restaurants? We've got most of Sunday off. What might make a good half day trip? What sort of land marks should we check out?

For a good 1/2 day trip, head to Boulder. Hang out on Pearl Street, go for a hike by Mount Sanitas or Chataqua Park (there's shorter, easier hikes there to do, but also great landscape). Mountain Sun brewery on Pearl Street has decent food, awesome beer and free music on Sunday night--Boulder Cafe has a cool patio and an awesome happy hour between 3 and 7 every day. Boulder is awesome and only about a 40 minute drive.

As for Denver, I like Sushi Den for something nicer and Wazee Supper Club for something fun and cheaper. And the Skylark Lounge is the best bar ever and even better people watching.

Hope that helps. Have fun--you won't want to leave.

i'll second the wazee supper club and add the Fieldhouse to the mix in LoDo... going to hang out in boulder for a half day ain't a bad idea either. you can cruise past jon benets old house, there's a north face outlet and if you're there at night, head to The Sink.

Check out Emil-lene sirloin house. East side of Aurora on Smith Rd, east of Chambers. It's not directly on the street, but back a long dirt lane. Lit sign at entrance to the lane.

A little pricey (market rate, menu varies a little day to day), but you get a lot of food, including a side of spaghetti. Desserts are limited, but the homemade ice cream is great. I always stop there when in town. At one point in time, it was just cattlemen and their families who ate there. Now others are catching on to it. They also have full bar service, beer, mixed drinks, wine.

Also check out any of the Brokers restaurants (4 or 5 in Denver, one in Boulder). Some of the best prime rib anywhere.

The Armadillo is a local Mexican food chain. Better than the national chains.

Definately go to Boulder. Walk around Pearl Street Mall and people watch, or go hiking at Chautauqua. Go to the Dushanbe Tea House (www.boulderteahouse.com) for lunch. They have great food.

Yeah, how was Jon Benet's house (is that really a tourist attraction)?
