does anyone know anyone shooting some live sports for NBC? I'm noticing a little hunting for focus, especially of course on the extreme close ups. Must be a bear to try and keep HD in focus on something like a speed skater heading straight for you! Gotta tip my hat, they seem to be doing a great job considering.

You ever do a live game with a 86x HD lens? If you're in all the way, the DOF is very, very, very shallow.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I guess I'm just wondering how the HD DOF is compared to standard def DOF. and if they've any tips on handling it.

I actually contacted Sony to see if their is anyway to combat the lack of DOF. They said try and keep the aperature around 5.6 / 8 and keep the lens spotless. Any speck of dust on the lens can be seen.
