I guess all the staff at Sinclairs news operations in Cincinnati got their two weeks notice yesterday. That drops the number of NewsCentral stations in the country to 4!!!

Hurray, NewsCentral is almost dead!

Why don't they just dismantle the entire company? Sell off each station, or let it go back to local ownership, and good riddance SINclair!

At this pace, It won't be too long before they start doing just that... Then there will be rejoicing :D

Yeah, didn't Sinclair just close their Pittsburgh Fox 53 operations also?

I think what we are seeing is Sinclair slowly shrinking its protfolio of stations down to about 20 or 30 strong operations that bring in a large income. They tried the Newscentral thing and that didn't work so now they had a choice bite the bullet and produce news at every station or scale back and concentrate resources in the markets where local news is making money. I am always sad to see a station pull news and put photogs and a dedicated staff on the street. But, I think when the dust settles Sinclair will just be another company that owns TV stations and can still be a major player in the U.S. broadcasting industry.

I think if they would have produced news LOCALLY, it may have had a fighting chance instead of that strange mix of national/local stuff they did with Newscentral. It goes to show that you get what you pay for.

Well, I understand there might be a couple of openings at the Cincinnati CBS affil . . . maybe a couple of 'em could get hired there.

Didn't Sinclair try to emulate The Weather Channel in Hunt Valley, VA? I think that went "tango uniform" for them. I just saw that the local Sinclair is now using Accu-Weather; which is stupid cause they have a good, degreed meteorologist on staff---at least for now.

That's Hunt Valley, MD (suburb of Baltimore), not VA.

And if that doesn't work out, they can go back to producing porn in the basement of WBFF.
