Can someone give me some insight into general digi-beta package rates? I've got an upcoming shoot, client is requesting Digi-beta. I own not.
One source in town (rental house) is around $750 on camera & support package (for Sony D709WS). Rate is not much less w/out the support gear: (lens, tripod, batteries, monitor) which I already have. I know I'll have to up my rate to compensate for the rental rate, but I don't know the "standard" rates.
I've always owned all my package, rarely work w/out my gear, so not sure what to tack on, if any, for the rental charge, and my audio/support gear.

I usually charge $1,750 for a full day. Technically, a half-day would only be $1,050, but the profit margin is ridiculous, so I would say full-days only, unless the rental company will let you do a half-day.

Sounds like the rental company is ripping you off, here, you can get a complete camera, lens and batteries for $750 a day. I've seen DVW-707 (4:3) digibeta bodies rent for $350 a day.

You should shop around a little more and/or try to get a better deal on the rental.

Standard (ballpark!) Rate for DigiBeta Crew with 709 Wide screen switchable 16:9 4:3 should be about $1800 day for 2 man, ten hour day. One man band rate is take your pick off that, but probably about $1300 to $1400. Your mileage may vary.

I rent the body only (790) for $600. Complete package $850. 10 hours with audio goes for $1650-$1850.

Wow. You guys are high. $1550 is what I charge. DigiBeta is not that much more than Beta SP these days. Maybe $200 more... that's about all. What's the big deal anyway?
