Freelance in NYC

I am seriously thinking about moving to New York City to freelance. I have a Sony 600 and top of the line lights and everything else. In the past 9 years i have shot news for the nets. What is the market right now inNYC? Will I find work? Or should I stay put.

DC is where the action is for news, why would you leave ? Seriously there is as much work in DC as in NY probably more if you're going to latch on to the net gig (tit) why not ask at the bureau in DC ?
