I am new to the pd150 and need to shoot in B&W. Is there a way to do this without taking the color out in post.
Thanks

While the 150 is considered by many to be "pro-sumer", it does not offer special effects in-camera like B/W shooting...the VX2000/2100 series I believe does...maybe you could run it through some type of TBC or color corrector and then out again to preferably your DVCAM record source...with the colors all set to "0"...I seem to remember Videonics had a color processor with lines in and out a long time ago...there's gotta be other, better stuff out there in today's market...

Jeez I always remember other stuff after I hit enter...doesn't the 150 have manual color gain control? I know the Canons (GL2/XL1s) do..if you manually crank the color all the way down, doesn't it give a B/W picture or something close?

you can shoot in "old movie" mode through the digital effects menu. it's sepia and adds the bars for a 16.9 effect.
