anyone familiar with Strand Century stand lights? I just dug a couple of them out of a storeroom... they are Ianebeam 800s, manufactured in Italy, with the Strand Century name stuck on. they are round, orange and 6 1/4 inches wide across the front.
actually they seem to be pretty good lights, need to find some barndoors for them though.

Bass,
Those Ianiro's are affectionately known as "red heads". I've got 2 that I use all the time and I've had them for 15+ years. Not a bad little light. Mine are a composite fiberglass although I believe they do come in an aluminum style also. The Strand light stands that you found? Also not a bad little stand. Mine are aluminum and have also held up well over the years. The ones that I use are of a tubular construction. They've held up much better the flat aluminum that Lowel uses. Both my lights have barn doors with slots for gels. Parts can be a little hard to get and I haven't had to order any in awhile. You can find the Ianiro website here (http://www.ianiro.com).

that's them... we have the metal "red head." that's an interesting site if only for the language, or maybe I just like the idea of owning a light with an "Extra-pure polished aluminium reflector."
we'll have to find a US dealer and get their price on a "Heracles" or maybe a "divino"... thanks for the update.
