Need some recommendations as to where I can find a wireless hidden camera (or better yet a selection of them) to rent for a specific shoot. I've tried a google search, but feel like I'm wasting time sifting through the nanny cams, overseas companies, etc.
Any good domestic outfits that rent covert cameras, especially wireless hidden cams?

What kind of range are you looking for? Just how 'stealthy' do you need your camera to be? Unrecognizable or just "hidden"? Fixed position or capable of moving around?

Range doesn't have to be great. The record deck (receiver) could be in a bag carried by the same person sporting the hidden camera. I just don't want a hardwired connection between the camera and record deck. When you have to hide the deck on a person, it defeats the sleekness of the camera.
This camera needs to be as undetectable as possible in a one-on-one situation. And it needs to be mobile. The shoot is on "their" turf, so to speak. So, we don't have control of the environment to plant a camera in a stationary location.
That said, I repeat the question, where can a find a domestic (U.S.) company that rents wireless undercover cameras?
Thanks for any advice.

I was in a similar situation. We already had the camera and the recorder, but needed a short-range video transmitter (like you, recorder in a shoulder bag). Got one for about $100. It's plastic and probably won't standup to a serious beating--but whaddya want for a lousy $100? It worked fine--occasional breakup (for about 10 frames) if system was seriously "jostled".
BTW, that included the transmitter and the receiver--RCA connections for audio/video.

We had a covert camera specialist turn up to shoot a consumer story. He had set up the camera in a button of a jean jacket. Showed us a few tests and they looked good. He then put it on the female reporter and she went into the shop. Unfortunately he had not taken into account the effect her different body shape had on the hang of the jacket. 15min of good audio but a continuos shot of the ceiling.

I would check your wire tapping statutes first. As I recall, any hidden camera recording must be hard wired. That means no transmitting of audio or video. Do what you feel you have to do. But, again, I would check with your attorney first, before you open yourself and your station to a lawsuit. I know police do it all the time, however, they have a warrant to do so. Good luck and let the posters know what comes of the story.

Just a follow up. All recording (both vid and audio) must be worn on the person or persons recording the "event".
