A few weeks ago, someone in one of these threads asked if there was a book about photogs in news business. I have one title I'd like to recommend:

" Shooters--TV News Photographers And Their Work " by D.M. Lindekugel.

You can order this through Barnes and Noble. The book explores what, in general, shooters go through, in terms of job related situations ( how they work with reporters, what they do in one man bands, etc. . ). Check it out!

it's hard to watch video examples in a book, but for what it's worth i found "Television Field Production and Reporting" by Frederick Shook most helpful.

many chapters devoted to the technical side of putting things together (shooting, editing, and engineering 101). even more helpful were the chapters devoted to news writing and script formats, which basically give you a recipe for the complete product. while the chapters on media law and ethics still help me out.

the only thing missing is a cdrom full of great work, now that's an idea.
