Fisher, why do you want to know? I thought they sold all there stations. They use to own the station I'm at now. They are very cheap and I mean cheap. We used 3/4 gear for the longest time. The health insurance they provide is a joke!!!!! Did I mention they are cheap. They hate buying new gear. When they do it's the low end models. When we became a union station they sold us because ut would cost them more money. They try and act like a small family owned biz but they are far from that.

I was around when SJL totally wiped out WICU in Erie, PA. It was a blood bath.

I don't know if the company has changed since then, but I would think twice before working for them.

They just bought 4 stations, Honolulu, Portland, Wichita, & Topeka and are selling the one station they owned in Penn.

Good luck to all the guys and girls who work at those stations they just bought. Don't plan on getting any new gear anytime soon. Your health plan will suck. Good luck to whoever gets Sandy Benton as a new GM. She's the first GM I ever seen cry in front of the entire station when we voted the union in. The only good news is that you will have a lot of three and four day weekends. SJL hates to pay ovetime so they rather have you come in a hour and half late or leave early. If you get enough ot they will give you an entire day off.

I forgot to add. Don't worry the SJL nightmare won't last to long. They will cut back so much to make there books look good then sell you in a few years. And they do throw a good Christmas party.

They owned the station in Wichita 2 owners ago. A lot of old timers are glad they are coming back. The current owners cancelled sports (stupid) and SJL is bringing it back even before the offical switch. Our gear is only a couple of years old and as far as we know the GM is staying. The OT thing worries me though. They don't pay us enough as it is. Need the OT to survive!
