I need to ask any of you a question

Since anyone can claim anything on this board, just ask your question. I'm sure you'll get an answer from those who know and those who claim to know. Its your challenge to figure it all out. If you don't get what you seek here, just give Paul a call.

we had a guy from our station call out sick today, and someone heard him talking about having an interview at FLA. Just wondering if he's screwing the rest of us for a job he's not qualified for

<big deal>

those are his sick days to do with as he pleases. paul will decide if he/she is qualified for the job....

There are no openings at WFLA at this time!

<not here>

No openings and Paul is off today. I guess that means no interviews. Maybe your guy is elsewhere or even actually sick.

I've used sick days for job interviews, and I'll do it again.

Sick days are earned for use by the employee. They can be used by the employee as he/she wants (within reason...don't overuse them).

If you have a problem with someone using a sick day to interview for a better job, then deal with it on your own time.

Why don't you grow up, mind your own business and worry about yourself and do the job you're are getting paid to do. Sounds like you're jealous, insecure and vindictive.

I understand using sick days as mental health days, we all do this every once in a while. But they should NOT be used to go interview for another job. We were already down 2 photogs and then this guy calls in. He must've worked with the last 3 guys who posted here. You guys are real team players.

I have no idea who the guy is. I'm just saying it like it is.

As to being a team player, today I'm the only photog until 230pm. I woke up feverish and nauseous, and I still came into work.

Don't throw blanket statements without all the facts.

The alternative to calling in sick for a job interview is to have the ND in the know about the job interview. You tell me, is your ND open about things like that? Not all of them are.

I agree with most of you on here, but I also know who this post is about. I am going to put my two cents in because everyone else is. I don't think that you should call in sick 5 TIMES if you have been at the station for 2 months.

I think that everyone should have mental-health days or sick days. But I also know about being a team player and helping out when you can. I put in my time....but I don't like covering double shifts for people going to job interviews.
