KNXV

3 weeks ago I posted "Phoenix" asking for info on the market. Thanks to all who gave me such great info on the shops there.

Nothing was mentioned about ABC 15, however, and I can't find anything recent in the archives about KNXV.

Anyone know the scoop there? Especially, is there any truth to a rumor I heard that thier ratings are so poor that COX is debating eliminating the news department.

Last I knew, KNXV is owned by Scripps, not Cox. And the only other thing I know is they change formats like underwear and so far nothing seems to keep them from battling over last place with KPHO. But the people there are pretty cool, and there for a while they couldn't get enough video from me...Overall, a good group.

It's not their fault. It's the market. These viewers like to delude themselves that everyone lives in Gilbert or North Scottsdale in their clean tidy cookie cutter homes with their 2 and 1/3rd children and nothing bad ever happens. We like golf and restaurants, not fires and police chases. Hence, KTVK leads with their "More fluff is on the way, but first, some real news" format while stations that "Don't waste your time" (old KNXV slogan) get their asses handed to them in the ratings. But I don't think KNXV's news department is going away anytime soon. As long as they can sell ad space, they'll keep doing news.
