Does anyone know or have any info on how to start the process of starting up a low powered TV station? I have some calls in to the FCC but any help you can give is great.

The biggest problem is finding and setting up your antenna sight. You need to have a study done to find out what problems the RF might cause and how to fix the problems. We had a couple of low powered stations in Sacramento but the FCC "forced" them out of business. I don't know what they did but the stations claimed they were forced out. Maybe having to switch to digital?

Are you trying to start another pirate porn station in Naples, News-Quest - the $10,000 fine you got the last time wasn't enought, huh? Justs don't use the vid from your nudist story..... redface.gif

Did someone say porn?? News-Quest I'm in...but I don't think that the station would like the cameras being used for that

What the station doesn't know, won't hurt them!

This is a serious question! It has NOTHING to do with porn. Please be mature and professional, I have a real question.

I think you should read up on FCC licenses, must carry laws and then start looking for an antenna and thinking about what kind of content you would like to use.

A small indy station I used to work for got themselves on some major cable providers by proving they were available over the air in those providers defined areas of service.

Thats all the help I can give.

Try checking out the FCC's website.

are you trying to run a commercial station or just a low power tv station for fun? If it's just a hobby why not try for your HAM license? Amature TV is fun and you can also broadcast world wide if you want to. As long is it is not for profit and you don't talk about anything business related. You might even learn enough in the process to run a real commercial station in the process. Just a thought.
