Does anyone know where I can get a rig like they use in "Amazing Race" and "Fear Factor" to get a shot of a bike rider's face?

I'm taking part in a charity bike ride (1000 kms) and I'm planning to shoot a simple stand-up while riding that will be broadcast on the news as a sort of video diary of the ride on a daily basis.

My plan is to marry the helmet cam shot with video shot from support vehicles. I've done a quick google search and can only find POV type helmet cams. Anyone?

Thanks!

Haven't seen the rig but from what you describe it sounds like a big magilla. You want the camera out in front of you looking back at you.

How about mounting a PD150 type camera on the handlebars? Rig a clamp to the bars and away you go. A good short shotgun mic mounted on the camera would work great at that distance. Use the flip out screen flipped over to check your shot! Much less cumbersome.

Try this link... viosport (http://www.viosport.com) ...I've seen them advertise in Outside magazine and I've seen it on the fanny packs that the contestants wear on Fear Factor. Prices don't look too bad but keep in mind that you'll need a VTR....Good luck on the ride!
