With all the talk of switching formats and digital/ high definition, I think we are all overlooking a major change sweeping its way to all of our stations...and that is the complete loss of the analog 2ghz microwave band. So my question to shops that are completely digital how do you tune your shot in w/o waisting time both in your field and the engineer back in the shop. Right now I am in a shop with dual analog and digital...so we tune in analog then jump to digital...but since the window is so narrow for the digital signal I am thinking to tune only digital will be time consuming and downright a pain in the ass for breaking news situations. Would GPS be the answer? Giving your engineers the locatation and elevation of the tmx and they input in the reciever control???

not sure, but I thought there might be some built in trackers, like the gear that automatically aims Sat dishes in newer trucks. If we're lucky it'll be all automated.

Not all the answers, but worth the read. How the NYC Marathon (http://www.totalrf.com/news/nycmarathon.htm) was covered a couple years ago.
