run-away tape

We've had the Ikegami HL-77's for a year now and are beginning to see a weird problem with the tape taking off in fast forward for no reason. Anyone have this experience? Any suggestions? The engineers are baffled.

ff, we've had this discussion before and if I remember correctly it was a tape path sensor. Let me suggest a search of this board or maybe someone else can chime in...Good luck!

Yep. Look under DVCPro problems. I'm surprised the high & mighty Icky would have such a pedestrian Panny problem, though.
