Need your help--
Two of our best shooters have moved on to Top 20 market stations... We're very happy for them but that leaves us very short-handed. Anyone looking for a great small-market photog job (50 miles south of Tampa) please have them check out our website for the details -- WWSB.TV
Kay Miller is our News Director.
(We've advertised in the past on this awesome website & I know we will be again for these positions)
Good luck!!!

Good luck!!!Did you actually support the website and "advertise" in the job post section? If not ..that seems so cheap, I'd be afraid of going there......if you have and it's just not posted....I'm sorry.

Well, let me tell you this. Basically that is the way they are, probably the cheapest station in USA, perhaps 8 bucks an hour. But is also the best people I worked with in my TV career. Kay Miller is the ND and she is the sweetest human being ever. Their reporters, tech people, GM, secretaries, are the best. Unfortunately they pay with sunshine and that is why people come and go. They are state of the art and I will recomend it for newbies. Trust me. I was there and I am in top market now. Good luck.

My first station was WWSB, and I still think it's my favorite. Of course, a great many people always like their first station best, and no, I didn't go there for the money (I didn't get financially rich). I went there cuz I'm from there and it was a foot in the door.
The long-timers there are fantastic, and I knew Kay as assignment desk director and WISHED she was News Director since she's so good with people. Last I heard, a couple years ago, they finally moved into a new building and were working with all new gear. The beach is 10 minutes away from EVERYTHING....hmmmmm I miss sunshine in my paycheck...Of course, real money makes the decision, but it is a beautiful place to live. (Not that I can complain...Virginia Beach has sun, too).
Another plus is that you make a lot of connections in bigger surrounding markets: Tampa, Orlando, even Ft. Myers (hey, it's a step).

Knowledge is power.
A year and a half ago -- I got my first job as a "Photojournalist" here at WWSB -- making $9 an hour. Now after a thousand and one LIVE SHOTS/PKG's I'm up to $10.oo an hour + lots of OT.
The money isn't spectatular -- but I'm having the time of my life getting paid to do what I love...
Our Desk # is: (941) 923-NEWS.
Call and ask to speak with anyone (in ANY department) and I'm confident that they will tell you this is an awesome small-market station to "pay your dues" and then move on to the BIG TIME when the time is right.
We have THREE photog job openings that need to be filled -- quickly. Live truck and non-linear experience is highly recommended.
Hope this is helpful to anyone looking to move on to a new experience.
Back to you.
