Ok so I am looking for a new job. I have been at my current job for a year and really want to move on. Its in the top 60 market and not such a great place to work for and I have applied for about 3 or 4 in a much lower market and nothing is happening. I have gone in for interviews and felt like they went well. I am a good shooter who is a hard worker. I have a good tape. I have been at this for 6 months. What could I be doing wrong and how can I fix it? any ideas?

Six months is not much experience. When I had a year experience I though I was great and I did not understand why I could not get a job in big markets. Today, after 10 years, I see that tape and I laugh at myself. Also it is a matter of timming too, it is not a good time to look for jobs right now. With that little experience, you will get paid low wages anywhere you go. Stay and get more experience. Good luck.

Just keep sending tapes. My last job hunt took four months, with no calls until the very end. Out of the blue, I got a single phone call that led to an interview that turned into the job I have now. Within three days of accepting that job, I got calls from three different chiefs who were interested, one of whom actually asked if I were willing to reconsider. (Uh, yeah, like I'm going to turn down this job I have now on the chance you'll hire me. I appreciate the interest, but I think I'll pass.)
Keep looking and keep sending. Six months is not unheard of. In other words, it doesn't necessarily mean you suck.
<ever hear of networking??>

At least they might be able to give you some advice based on your tape.
