The author of this post wishes to make known the content of this message has been posted with all due respect to our beloved veteran shooters.

I received a rather disturbing email from a high school reunion committee three days ago. Namely -- my high school reunion committee. They've already assembled a list of possible party-goers and decided to begin dropping bombs about just how much older we -- the class of 1995 -- are.

(Insert stifled laughter of our more senior message board regulars.)

As with most people, it didn't remind me of the good times in high school. I suddenly find myself staring 30 almost right in the face.

I mentioned to a friend how weird it feels, knowing it's already been ten years. She replied with something quite interesting. I thought you guys would appreciate just as much as I did:

"At least you've got a cool job to talk about!"

Yeah. I guess it is pretty cool.

Just think how you will feel when it gets to your 25th! Had mine 2 years ago, class of '78 Gordon Tech Chicago.

I just had my 10yr last year. People were amazed at how cool our job is. One guy asked me what I did and after I told him t.v. news shooter I asked what are you up to. With a sad look on his face he said all I do is stare at a computer screen all day. The Guy makes 70,000 plus a year! Having a job that you do not have to stare at a computer screen all day and never know what your getting into and always having an interesting story to tell.....priceless.

hahah, at my 10 year I had to deal with all the guys who would not stop asking me about shooting NFL games and what the players were like in the locker room. I ended up leaving early just to get away from talking about work :)

I had my 25th reunion 2-years ago, too (Montgomery High School in San Diego.)

At my 10th, everyone still pretty much looked the same. In fact, lots of us were still in the same city...we saw each other around a lot, so it wasn't really a big deal.

But, at our 25th...man, talk about changes! All of the "jocks" were fat, balding middle-aged men. The homecoming court/"hotties" back in 1978 were all haggard, tired ol' hags.

Conversely, all of the geeky/nerdy kids were all either trim good-looking dudes...or well-off engineers/doctors/professionals--and that mousy girl who sat behind you in homeroom? The one NOBODY paid any attention to because she was skinny and wore glasses? She's now a leggy, trim "hotties" who because of LASIK surgery doesn't have the "coke-bottom glasses" anymore.

Of course, when everyone found out I worked for an ABC affiliate as a photographer and "editor", they all went nuts! They all wanted to what it was like "working for Peter Jennings." Lots more were impressed that I was actually "an editor, running the newsroom." I at first didn't get it...but then it occured to me that they all associated "editor" with "Lou Grant" from the old Mary Tyler Moore show.

So...if you (the original poster) thought that your 10th anniversay was a "trip,", wait til you see everyone 15-years later at your 25th!!!

10, 15, 25? That's kids stuff. Try rounding up the class of 1967. Do they have a party room at Forest Lawn?
