Hey.....does anyone have any details about ESPN's new venture? I'm looking for a contact to send a a tape and try to get onboard with the "Family". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "All college sport" channel? I think it's going to be called ESPNU. It'll be the director competitor to College Sports TV. I've heard of a March start date.

What are you looking to do?

Almost all of ESPN's "field" work comes from freelancers.

Producing is the best way to get onto the ESPN campus.

So...any advice on who to contact for "freelance" work? Does ESPN work with regional production co.?

they have their own regional offices that they crew games from.

You really have to know someone to get yourself in.

I wouldn't be surprised if ESPNU ends up buying CSTV.

It depends on what you are looking for. Usually the same office does ABC Sports and ESPN stuff. That is primarily for telecasts.

As stated, you have to know someone to get on the list.

As for the rare field shoots, ESPN either goes through a production company or through a very VERY short list of trusted freelancers.

Once again, to get on that list, you have to know someone.
