Anybody have experience as a staff Photographer or Editor for regional Fox Sports Net affiliates? What are they like to work for?

Slightly better than averge to work for if either sports or studio is your preferance. Just as long as you're not working for people with the names of either Stan or Guy.

You don't have to worry about running a live truck or running out on dumpster fires.

While I was not a Photog for FSN, I did work for their Technincal Operating Facility in Houston and talked with local Photog/Editors quite often. It's not a bad place to work, but you get no chance to move up unless you are a total idiot. It appears that they only advance those who have no talent or any clue as to what they should be doing. My advice to you if you take a job with them is to do the bare minimum and you will be the top dog in no time!

Are Fox Sports Net staff jobs salaried or hourly? Also, do you need to join a union as a staff photographer or editor?

FOX Sports Net only reports on sports that make Republicans look good.

I worked at the one in Pittsburgh, and it was a great experience. Assigned gear and cars, non-linear editing, pretty nice toys, and you're shooting sports everyday. Great staff there too, and opportunities to do national events like the Super Bowl even if your team doesn't go, because the crews provide coverage for all the regionals. Too bad once again WV feels the need to comment on a place he never worked at, maybe he'll say who he is this time. There are some I'd stay away from, but overall they're pretty good places to work.

Thanks everyone for the input. Are the shows that used to all be done in LA, Seattle, etc being taken over by the individual regions? What I mean is, are the shows being anchored from the regions they cover now?

I had a problem with the people in Denver a few years ago. It took them 4 months to pay me for shooting a Broncos game for them out of state.
